QC Analyst Chemist - Vacancy

Salary: £18,000 to 21,000 per annum

Based in: Daventry

Hours: 37.5 hours per week working 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday – Thursday, 8.30am – 3.45 pm Fridays.

Occasional extra hours may be required subject to business demands. Occasional shift work over the year may also be required.

Are you a Chemistry Graduate? Do you have a real interest and passion in the small scale manufacture of Fragrance & Flavour Chemicals? We are recruiting for a QC Analyst Chemist now in Daventry.

Endeavour Speciality Chemicals primarily manufacture flavour and fragrance (F&F) chemicals for use in the food industry. Our market is global and the business is consistently growing year on year.

We are looking to replace one of our team. Duties of the QC Analyst Chemist include:

  • Using a variety of techniques provide QC analysis of; Raw Materials, Finished Products (Non Aroma and Aroma), external pre-shipment samples representing sourced materials, intermediates, In Process Test samples, distillation fractions, and R&D samples.
  • To maintain accurate electronic and paper based records of these analyses, and communicate them to both the internal and external customer. To create and maintain QC files and associated specifications for all; finished products, isolatable intermediates, and production raw materials when required.
  • To be responsible for all analytical equipment used on site; managing maintenance, calibration and Performance Verification. To contribute towards the olfactory assessment of aroma products and fractions.
  • To investigate and report back conclusions and recommendations for all Customer Feedback issues concerning product quality.
  • To complete and return; quality, and technical, customer questionnaires. Provide food safety /regulatory related statements and certifications for products concerned.
  • To be able to provide cover for most of the operations within the QC function

Essential skills

  • A First degree in chemistry
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn
  • Good team player

Desirable skills

  • 6 months in industrial Quality Control and Analysis
  • Experience of small scale chemistry at University or College
  • Some knowledge of safe working practices i.e. COSHH
  • Previous experience of working within a chemical manufacturing organisation
